The Rugarama Health Center construction is yet to kick off with the financial support of Rwf200 Million that was provided by Rwanda Local Development Support Fund (RLDSF).
The Health Center will be built in Rugarama Sector in Burera district and the construction contract is already on the market.
Samuel Sembagare the mayor of Burera district
The mayor of Burera district Samuel Sembagare says “we now have Rwf200 Million for the 1st phase of construction from RLDSF. The construction project is yet to start soon. We will however need more than this amount to complete the Health Center which will be of high standards.”
The Burera district has been planning on building this Health Center for a long time and residents of Rugarama sector have been waiting for the promise made to them to come true. In the fiscal year 2012/2013, Burera district had vowed in its performing contracts to construct this Health Center but it never came be realized.
This Health Center was not built in the financial year 2012/2013 because the district had no finances to carry out the project to completion. The funds they were supposed to get from the Ministry of Health to start up the construction of the project were also not delivered according to the district’s mayor.
With the construction of Rugarama Health Center, it will offer different medical and health services to residents of Rugarama sector. So far, residents of Rugarama sector seek these services from the neighbouring sectors of Kinoni, Gahunga and Cyanika.
Rugarama sector is the only sector out of the 17 sectors of Burera district with no Health Center but soon this will never be an issue with the construction of Rugarama Health Center.
